About The Cotswold Waller
Founded by Richard Gray-Tyne, The Cotswold Waller continues the work established through Hillrise Stonework in 2006, specialising in traditional dry stone wall construction, restoration, and countryside conservation projects across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
Working with traditional methods and locally appropriate materials, each project is approached with an emphasis on craftsmanship, durability, and sensitivity to the surrounding landscape.
Membership & Experience
Richard is a professional member of the Dry Stone Walling Association and has worked on projects ranging from traditional boundary walls and retaining structures to countryside conservation and heritage restoration work.
Work has included award-recognised craftsmanship, training and instruction, and conservation-led projects throughout Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
Approach
Every wall is built with careful attention to proportion, setting, and longevity — creating work that feels naturally rooted in the landscape and designed to endure for generations.
